This year, we anticipate over 100 sponsors will contribute to the prizes of this tournament. Everything from the smallest rig companies, to private plug makers to custom rod makers to cooler rack manufactures and everything in between. Don't forget also, there are some cash $$$ prizes too. Today is the day of BIG FISH!!. Mark Brancacio from Toms River caught a 47"- 43# Bass on a BBK Plug on outgoing tide on SSH Fishing Pier. Mark said when the wind laid down, the bunker schools were everywhere. Many fish caught upto 40+ lbs. fish. NICE FISH MARK!

Plenty of fish around yesterday, biggest one was 40+", 27lbs. It seems the incoming tide produces the most action. Fresh bunker and clams as well as metals with teasers are the ticket. We are stocked on all the above. We just brought in another shipment of the Penn Battles, so stop in and shop early for Christmas. Gift certificates are also available.

A couple of Bass were picked off yesterday in early afternoon on clams and avas. There were no bunker to be had, until last night. We have plenty of fresh bunker & clams. The surf is still a little rough, though guys are holding with 8oz. So stop in for breakfast before hitting the beach. Be careful down the island the sand is like sugar.

Good morning to all. Another day of great fishing if you can throw at least 10oz. If you can hold bottom, you are catching fish. Surf is a little dirty, but clams and bunker are working as well as heavy metal. Hopefully, by evening surf should lay down somewhat and action should improve. We will update.

Joe Fox from Roebling, NJ just weighed in a 10lb. 32" Bass on clam. Many fish are being caught on incoming tide. Poppers, avas and deadly dicks are being used as well as Chunk bunker and clams.

Good morning to all. Don't be afraid of a little rain today, with this Northeast wind, it increases your chances to catch THE BIG ONE! As of last night, we are getting reports of big Blues hitting on bunker and poppers. As for Bass, clams as well as poppers were working. Incoming at dusk seem to be the time to be out there and at first light. So stop in and grab some bait and a hot sandwich to get you motivated for the day.

Last night the bite was on for big Bluefish. Most fish were caught on bunker chunk. Some nice Bass were picked off on poppers and clams for the most part. BASS ARE FINALLY IN!!! There are reports this morning that Bass were caught late afternoon into the evening on poppers, clam and chunk bunker. Fish ranging from 12-25 lbs.

What a great day to go fishing. A couple of Bass were caught yesterday ranging from 12-17lbs, but for the most part; birds were out too far out to reach from the surf. Even friends of mine who went out in boats commented how slow it was yesterday. Rumors have it that False Albacore are around and catching them on poppers. We have a great assortment of CJ Lures- Poppers; 3.5oz & 1.75oz. as well as Swimmers and Block Tin jigs.

Good morning to all..Fishing slowed down a bit with the bite at dusk. Pencil poppers and chunk bait are the way to go. Bluefish being caught up to 15lbs and some bass mixed in at 12-14lbs. We carry a wide variety of CJ lures including the 6" & 9" pencil poppers. We have Mackerel, Butterfish, Clam & Mullet.

There is alot of Bluefish in the surf, ranging from 10-15 lbs.+...Many fish are being caught on white poppers, some on corn-cob mullet and chunk bunker. Most fish are being caught on incoming tide. Some bass are being pick off on clams and deadly dicks. When fish are being fillet, fisherman are finding butterfish in their stomachs, just for your info.....
Many of CJ's Lures are working, as well as atoms....and some diamond jigs.

Today is not the greatest day to be at the shore, but the fish are here. Bluefish are around in the 2-4 lb. class hitting on mullet and metal; deadly dicks and avas. Also Bass have been hitting on clams, avas and bunker chunks. Most fish are being caught on incoming tide. In the bay, we still have blue claws being casught as well as snappers on spearing and blowfish; using clam logs. We are fully stocked on all metals and bait. Today was a beautiful day to go to the beach despite the forecast. When I first got there I anticipated catchin' fish. I saw plenty of bunker, but no fish underneath them. You can look up and down the beach no one was hooked up. There were plenty of boats, but again no hook ups. I hear alot of fish are north of us, Bayhead and Manasquan. Hopefully they will move south in the next day or so.

FISH ARE BITING!!!!!!!!! Just had 4 weigh-ins by one guy, John Wisniewski from Jackson. John caught 2 Bass, 17.5 lbs- 36.5" & 10.5 lbs- 31". John also caught 2 Bluefish, 9 lbs.- 31.5" & 5lbs.- 24". All fish were caught on fresh bunker on incoming tide @ IBSP.. Fish were still biting when Johm met his quota on Bass.

Geroge Miller of Toms River just weighed in a Bass-23 lbs.-40" and Jeremy Nixon of Toms River weighed in another nice Bass- 18 lbs.-35". Both fish were caught in Manasquan on swimmer's. Fish were under schools of bunker and caught at dead low tide.

1) The contest starts May 28th, 2010 and ends on December 1st 2010.
2) Contest is $10 per angler per category, except for Fluke is $5.00
3) All fish are required to be weighed in at Jersey Joes bait and tackle.
4) There is a mandatory waiting period of 24hrs after entering contest to weigh in fish.
5) There are three species of fish eligible. Striped Bass, Bluefish & Fluke (Summer Flounder).
6) All fish must be caught on the surf, jetty or Pier. No boats!
7) All participants are can weigh in three fish per week per category.
8) All fish will be weighed. Heaviest fish wins its category. The tie breakers are longest fish by measurement (nose tip to swipe of tail) and then earliest fish entered.
9) There are first second and third place prizes except for Fluke.
10) This contest is not part of any Calcutta or other contest within Jersey Joe’s.
11) All decisions on contest are made by Jersey Joes and all decisions are final.

Just heard from Capt. Ron, there is a bloodbath at the pocket of Bluefish everywhere; hitting on anything-metal, poppers, and bait. Fish are ranging 8-12 lbs.

Just had another weigh in from Carpenter John- from John's World, with 2 nice size Bass. 1st Bass weighing 24lbs-41" and the 2nd Bass weighing 19 1/2lbs-39"...Of course these fish were caught using CJ Pencil Popper. Good morning to all. I'm hearing alot of reports of Black drum and surprisingly, Blowfish in the surf. Bluefish are still coming in strong, averaging 6-10 lbs; mostly being caught on diamond jigs and poppers. A few fish being caught on bunker. Big Bass are still north of us, but decent size are being caught; averaging 15-20 lbs. We have plenty of fresh bunker 2/$3.00 and fresh clams still 3/$1.00.

Today I was in Point Pleasant and saw a shit load of birds workin' south of the inlet, probably Bluefish. Last night I had 3 customers tell me they were catchin' Bass on clams 2 hrs. before high tide, up to 22 lbs. Even though the water is low because of the blow, I have been gettin' great reports of big Bluefish still around, up to 12 lbs. After the blow we should be seeing some bigger bass. The last report I heard, 30-40 lb. Bass were around the Manasquan Inlet.....Thanks, Geri
I just got a report of big Bluefish in the inlet. Fish ranging 6-10+ lb. size. Most fish being caught were hitting on avis- (colors- red, green, white); with a slow retrieve. Fish were also hitting on poppers. North of the pocket, keeper Bass were being caught. Bob Ragati & his son Andrew caught 15 Bluefish between the two of them up to 10lb. size...and left with fish still biting.

Just had 2 weigh ins by Billy Sheperd of Seaside Heights and Mike Crate of Mercerville, NJ Billy weighed in a 33", 10lbs Bluefish on bunker chunk. Mike weighed in a 28", 8.5lb. Bluefish also on bunker chunk. Both fish were caught in Seaside Park on dead low tide. Fish were still biting, but they ran out of bait.. Stop in and get your fresh bunker for 2/$3.00.....Thanks Geri
Good morning to all...Bass on the surf up to 25lbs+, mixed with Blufefish up to 12lbs. We arleady heard birds working near the piers and the fish are pushing the bait on the beach. This bass was caught @ IBSP, 34"; weighing 14lbs. so stop in for bait & grab some breakfast before hitting the beach...... At 3:15PM Eric T. from brick just weighed in 2 keeper bass 33" & 29 1/2" from IBSP on JJ clams. Fish caught on slack tide & 2nd on out going. Also reports of small blues being caught there. Chuck
Keith S. from Toms River just weighed in his first keeper of the year. Bass weighed 16 1/2lbs, 37 1/2" on J J clams caught in Seaside Park. Keith said he was only there for 15 min. before his first hookup. WE still have plenty of fresh clams and fresh bunker.
Capt. Ron from Phil. PA weighed in another Bass weighing 14.9 lbs 33" on J J clams. Spending Saturday & Sunday on the surf Capt Ron witnessed several hook ups which included Bass up to 18 lbs & Drums up to 10 lbs. At the Mantoloking bridge we are still hearing reports of Bass being caught on clams 12-15lbs in size. Hot spots for crabbing; Manahawkin bridge & seven bridges in Tuckerton.

What a great summer like weekend we had. Still hearing a lot of shorts caught along the Island & some flounder in the bay near Island Heights with some short bass on top. Hearing south of us Manahawkin/LBI area blue crabs are plentiful up to six inch shells.
Stop in we have plenty of fresh clams & fresh bunker. Stop in to have breakfast in or to take out to the beach. Thanks Chuck

It looks like we're goin to have great weekend ahead, with the weather finaly. We'll have plenty of fresh clams and fresh bunker. Our crab bait (frozen bunker) is still 75 cents!! Come on in for our breakfast and lunch specials!
A report that a 15lb bass was landed in the park on Clams on Saturday. Also, sources tell us that Bluefish are coming up from Virginia chasing the Mackeral run.
